  • UNODC - Call for Papers: 5th Anti-Corruption Academic Symposium

    Organized by UNODC under the GRACE Initiative, the 5th Anti-Corruption Academic Symposium invites academics, practitioners, policymakers, civil society, and youth to submit papers on the responsible and effective use of AI in the fight against corruption, under the theme “Challenges and Opportunities for the Use of AI in Anti-Corruption Efforts”, taking place on 13–14 December 2025 in Doha, Qatar.

    Topics include (but are not limited to):
    ● Predictive analytics for corruption risk in procurement, political finance, or service
    delivery
    ● Use of satellite and geospatial data to detect irregularities linked to corruption
    ● Auditing, evaluation and impact assessment of AI in anti-corruption
    ● Grassroots and civil society uses of AI (e.g., bots, platforms, crowdsourcing) in anticorruption
    ● Data availability, quality, and interoperability for AI anti-corruption systems
    ● Ethical, legal, and governance implications of AI in anti-corruption
    ● Comparative case studies of AI successes and failures in anti-corruption

    Deadlines:
    Abstract submission: 21 September 2025
    Notification of acceptance: 15 October 2025

  • Murdoch University to Redevelop Veterinary School with Record $100m Gift

    Murdoch University will fully redevelop its iconic veterinary school thanks to a $100 million gift from Perth philanthropist Ted Powell.
    A new 9,600 sqm, state-of-the-art facility beside the award-winning Boola Katitjin will enable a 50% increase in veterinary training capacity in Western Australia (WA).
    The largest gift ever to a WA university builds on Mr Powell’s long support through The Ragdoll Foundation, whose scholarships have helped more than 140 Murdoch students graduate.

    “This extraordinary generosity will help WA remain a leading hub for animal research, teaching and training,” said Vice-Chancellor Professor Andrew Deeks.

    The project also includes staged upgrades to The Animal Hospital at Murdoch University (TAHMU) and a new Conservation & Life Sciences precinct, strengthening One Health research and collaborations.

  • INQAAHE FORUM 2026

    The 2026 INQAAHE Forum will take place in Sun City, South Africa from 3–6 February 2026 under the theme “Quality Assurance as an impactful tool for Tertiary Education today and tomorrow.”
    The event will bring together global voices in tertiary education and quality assurance to reflect on how QA can drive innovation, inclusion, and sustainability in higher education—particularly across Africa’s rapidly evolving landscape.

    The Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU) has unveiled its updated strategic plan, The Road to 2030. Building on a refreshed vision, the plan sets out how the ACU will work with members and partners to strengthen higher education, advance sustainable development, and connect engaged leaders across the Commonwealth.

  • UNACH - Webinar on the University of the Future 2025

    The Universidad Autónoma de Chiapas will host a webinar on The University of the Future (WUoF), Unach 2025. The event seeks to promote reflection and critical analysis on the transformations that higher education institutions must undertake to effectively address forthcoming challenges.
    Mr. Giorgio Marinoni, Manager for Higher Education Internationalization Policy and Projects at the International Association of Universities, will be among the distinguished speakers.
    The webinar (conducted in Spanish) will be held in two sessions: Wednesday, 24 September 2025, and Wednesday, 1 October 2025, beginning at 10:00 a.m. (Mexico Central Time).

  • Association of African Universities - Renewal of Prof. Olusola Oyewole’s Mandate as Secretary General of the AAU

  • Association of African Universities - Prof Kenneth Matengu elected as New President

    Professor Kenneth Kamwi Matengu, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Namibia, has been elected the 14th President of the Association of African Universities (AAU).
    This appointment took place during the 16th AAU General Conference, held in Rabat, Morocco, from July 21 to 25, 2025.
    An accomplished scholar, innovator, and transformative leader, he won 67.1% of the votes in a two-candidate election, succeeding Professor Bakri Osman Saeed of the University of Khartoum, who chaired the Association’s governing board from 2021 to 2025.
