University of Porto and Middle East Technical University Research Collaboration - Survey1 October 2024Two researchers from the University of Porto: Cosmin Nada and Taísa Oliveira, in collaboration with Merve Zayim-Kurtay, a researcher from Middle East Technical University, are carrying out a study on inequalities in knowledge production. They aim to understand why some researchers encounter obstacles in having their knowledge validated and published and why alternative methods of knowledge production may be marginalized.
To ensure the study reflects a diverse range of experiences, they are inviting researchers from around the world to participate in a brief survey. Your insights will be invaluable in helping them understand the barriers and biases within the global research landscape.

University of the Western Cape - Henk Kummeling is awarded honorary doctorate30 September 2024Professor Henk Kummeling, Rector Magnificus and professor of Comparative Constitutional Law at Utrecht University, has been awarded an honorary doctorate by the University of the Western Cape (UWC) in Cape Town, South Africa. He receives the honorary doctorate for his achievements as a bridge builder that connects universities across the globe, and as defender of academic freedom. Both universities are IAU members.

Malmö University appointed Mia Rönnmar as new Vice-Chancellor14 August 2024The Swedish Government has decided to appoint Mia Rönnmar as the new Vice-Chancellor of Malmö University for the period 1 August 2024 – 31 July 2030. She succeeds to Kerstin Tham to this position. Mia Rönnmar is a professor of law and worked as a researcher and teacher at the Faculty of Law at Lund University, where she also served as dean from 2015 until 2020.
