  • European University Association (EUA) - Webinar on university funding trends in Europe

    The European University Association (EUA) is organising a webinar on "University funding towards 2030: increasing firepower in the post-pandemic phase". It will take place on Thursday, 27 May 2021 from 14.00 to 15.00 CEST.

    The webinar will offer an in-depth look at the latest university funding trends in Europe and address how to efficiently align funding policies and instruments to support university financial sustainability. Analysing data from across Europe, gathered through the EUA Public Funding Observatory, university leaders, managers and policy makers will have the opportunity to discuss the next era of university funding, sharing both broad and strategic insights, as well as focused and practical approaches.
    Registrations are open until the start of the event. The webinar is free of charge and open to anyone interested in the topic.




  • ISIT Paris - Pre-PH.D. Summer School: Translation and Intercultural Communication in the Digital Age

    ISIT Paris launches a call for participations to the Pre-Doctoral School: Translation and Intercultural Communication in the Digital Age, to be held online from July 15th to 28th, 2021 (15 days). This programme is more specifically intended for Chinese students wishing to do their PhD in France (Master’s and Doctoral students as well as Benke’s final year students interested in research who have a good command of French).

  • Aurora Universities Network - New Secretary-General

    The Board of the Aurora Universities Network is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms Anne-May Janssen to succeed Mr Kees Kouwenaar as Aurora’s Secretary-General. Kees Kouwenaar will retire and step down as Secretary-General on July 25th, 2021. To ensure a smooth and efficient handover, Ms Janssen will start working at the Aurora office on July 1st.

  • Kharkiv University of Humanities "People’s Ukrainian Academy" celebrates its 30th anniversary

    Kharkiv University of Humanities "People’s Ukrainian Academy (KSU "NUA") celebrates its 30th anniversary. KSU "NUA" is an innovative educational and scientific complex of lifelong education, which includes all educational levels - from preschool to postgraduate and leading training in integrated programs based on experimental curricula. The 30th anniversary celebrations will be launched on May 29th, 2021. On this very special occasion, IAU would like to wish KSU "NUA" an enjoyable celebration and continued success.




  • UNICA Webinar - "Academia & Industry: Innovation Models"

    UNICA launches a call for participations in the webinar "Academia & Industry: Innovation Models", to be held on 20 April, 15:00 – 17:00 (CET). An excellent panel of speakers will take part in this important event, including Christian J. Suojanen, CEO –Broadreach Global LLC (USA) as keynote, and the Vice-Rectors Research from UCD, UNIL and UAM. Jonathan Seckl, Senior Vice Principal of the University of Edinburgh will chair the discussions.

    Collaboration between universities and industry is an essential component of a balanced research ecosystem, and an important mechanism through which university research delivers economic and societal impact. However, this collaboration also entails risks and challenges.
    Why do we innovate and what is the purpose of innovation in academia? Who are the key stakeholders in innovation and what are the challenges in aligning the interests and achieving a desired level of engagement and cooperation for successful innovation? What are the main factors for success in University-industry collaboration? How SSH cooperation with industry can be fostered?
    The webinar will address these issues and provide an overview of different innovation models and instruments that universities have been developing in order to promote and accelerate technology transfer to the society.

  • United States International University - Africa — Prof. Paul Tiyambe Zeleza’s Book launch

    IAU Board Member and Vice Chancellor of United States International University - Africa, Prof. Paul Tiyambe Zeleza has launched his book “Africa and the Disruptions of the Twenty-First Century” on March 25, 2021. We congratulate Prof. Zeleza for his successful project!

    The virtual book launch was held by USIU-A and CODESRIA with an international and diverse board of commentators.

  • Zhejiang University - Global University Presidents’ Online Forum

    The Global University Presidents Online Forum was co-organized by Zhejiang University and International Association of Universities, on March 24th. Presidents from 13 countries and regions made keynote speeches, sharing their experience on the theme of "Role of Universities in the 2030 Agenda".   • Prince Mohammad Bin Fahd University (PMU) - International conference in future studies

    The Prince Muhammad Bin Fahd Center for Foresight Studies, in cooperation with the International Federation for Future Studies, started the first steps to organize an international conference on future studies during the period from 26-29 October 2021 in Berlin-Germany.
    The World Federation for Future Studies holds an international conference every two years in which all research centers and organizations concerned with future studies participate. This conference is considered the largest and most diverse in the world in future studies. This year’s conference is sponsored by the Prince Mohammed Center for Future Studies.

    The Prince Muhammad Bin Fahd Center for Prospective Studies has recently been recognized as one of the most important research centers in the Arab region in the field of future studies, as a result of the Center’s remarkable achievements in concluding partnership agreements with the International Federation for Future Studies and establishing a branch of the Federation at the PMU headquarters to be Representing the Federation.

    PMU will be the World Federation’s representative in the Middle East and North Africa region, as well as a collaboration agreement with UNESCO and the initiation of procedures to create the UNESCO Chair in Future Studies at the University, as well as partnership agreements with several international institutions in the field of future studies.
    Due to the extreme importance of these types of studies in recent years, the international meeting, which will be held in October of this year, is regarded as a significant move forward for future studies.

    The acceptance dates for the participating research papers will be published shortly.

  • UNIMED - International Workshop Research For Change

    Mediterranean Universities Union (UNIMED) launches a call for abstracts for the Workshop for Young Researchers, taking place from April 27th to 28th, 2021, under the theme “Research for Change: Gender, Forced Migration and Vulnerabilities”. Deadline extended until March 31, 2021. The event is an initiative launched within the project RAISD.
