  • 27th IEASA Conference 2025 : Call for Proposals

    The International Education Association of South Africa (IEASA) is delighted to announce its 27th Annual Conference, set to take place in Gqeberha (formerly Port Elizabeth), Eastern Cape, from 26 to 29 August 2025.

    The theme of the Conference is “Bridging Borders, Inspiring Solutions: Internationalisation for a Resilient and Inclusive Future

    Sub-themes for exploration:

    • Higher Education and Global Challenges: Tackling equity, sustainability, and innovation;
    • Equitable Partnerships: Amplifying Africa’s role in global higher education.
    • Global Partnerships for Local Impact: Internationalisation and sustainable development locally;
    • Critical Contemporary Challenges: Addressing climate change, digital transformation, and social justice through internationalisation;
    • Intersecting Education, Innovation, and Policy: The Role of Internationalisation in Shaping Resilient and Inclusive Futures

    • Implementing Internationalisation: Navigating practitioners’ challenges in the contemporary global context;

  • Launch of Call for Applications : SAFE Project - Supporting At-risk researchers with Fellowships in Europe

    The EU-funded SAFE project "Supporting At-risk researchers with Fellowships in Europe" offers up to 60 fellowships for at-risk doctoral and postdoctoral researchers of any non-EU nationality for a research stay at a higher education and research institution in the EU. The project offers an optional matchmaking service until mid-December to help researchers and host institutions without prior contacts to connect for a joint application.
    Host institutions established in the EU can now submit applications on behalf of eligible non-EU researchers at risk. The call will remain open until 20 January 2025, at 23:59 (CET). For more details on the application process, please refer to the attached Call document and Terms of References for Applicants.
    The SAFE launch event and info session will take place virtually tomorrow, 19 November 2024, from 14:00 to 15:30 CET. This webinar aims at informing potential host institutions in the EU, as well as researchers at risk from any non-EU nationality about the call for applications and matchmaking service.   • EURASHE 34th Annual Conference - Call for contributions

    The European Association of Institutions in Higher Education (EURASHE) is pleased to announce its 34th Annual Conference, themed "Place, Knowledge, Skills: Applied Universities Driving Regional Competitiveness." The conference is scheduled for 14-15 May 2025 at the Polytechnic University of Portalegre in Portalegre, Portugal.
    EURASHE is currently inviting contributions for breakout sessions that explore the central question of the conference:

    How can Higher Education Institutions contribute to sustainable and inclusive European competitiveness within regional innovation ecosystems adapted to the local context, following the smart specialisation approach?

    Submissions may address, but are not limited to, the following topics:

    - Applied research and innovation with regional partners from industry and civil society.
    - Regionally relevant curricula, including work and practice-based learning.
    - Consultancy services to local firms that promote the dissemination and absorption of knowledge.
    - The contribution of European University Alliances and Centres of Vocational Excellence to smart specialisation and regional development.
    - The role of Higher Education Institutions in regional governance.

    Exciting news from Université Paris 8! The institution has unveiled its new logo, marking a fresh chapter in the institution’s visual identity. The new logo was officially revealed on November 26, 2024, during a special event at the university’s library.

    This new identity, under the signature “Université des Créations,” highlights Paris 8’s dedication to creativity, innovation, and societal openness, reaffirming its commitment to interdisciplinary exploration and inclusive knowledge sharing.

  • Symbiosis International (Deemed University) launches a New Campus in Dubai

    Symbiosis International (Deemed University) SIU, has marked a historic milestone by inaugurating its first International campus in Dubai, UAE, at the Dubai Knowledge Park. Fully accredited by the Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA) of the UAE Ministry of Education, the campus commenced operations on September 9, 2024, with programs in Management, Technology, and Media & Communication.

    The inauguration ceremony, held on November 14, 2024, was presided over by Prof. (Dr.) S.B. Mujumdar, the Founder and President of SIU. This new venture aligns with the university’s mission of fostering global academic excellence and innovation while embracing its guiding philosophy, Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam—"The world is one family."




  • UNACH - Conference on the Internationalization of Higher Education (JIES 2024)

    The Autonomous University of Chiapas (UNACH), will organize a Conference on the Internationalization of Higher Education - "Jornadas de Internacionalización de la Educación Superior" (JIES 2024), from November 26 to 28, 2024. This event will take place through digital platforms and will be broadcasted from the UNACH headquarters in Tuxtla Gutiérrez.
    The meeting will bring together experts from Colombia, Costa Rica, Mexico, Peru, the Netherlands, and the United States, who will speak about “Democratizing Access to International Opportunities”, “The Integration of Higher Education in Latin America and the Caribbean: Progress and Opportunities”, among other topics.

    The IAU has launched a Call for Papers for a Special Edition of its quarterly research journal, Higher Education Policy. The special edition will be entitled International Organizations and Higher Education and abstracts should be submitted before 15 January 2025.   • University of Barcelona - Save the date for the Student Mobility Summit 2025

    The Student Mobility Summit 2025, organized by the European University Foundation and the University of Barcelona, allows participants to unlock their potential to contribute to greener mobility. The event, taking place from February 4 to 6, 2025, at the University of Barcelona, will focus on balancing mobility and sustainability.

    The summit targets international relations professionals who are passionate about internationalization, quality student mobility, and committed to green approaches. It will place particular emphasis on how the green transition affects the work of International Relations Offices (IROs), their responsibilities, and how it influences their daily activities.

    Participants can look forward to a range of engaging topics and programme sessions:

    * PANELS: Learn about top policies and their interactions, the green transition updates, as well as national and European initiatives.
    * HACKATHONS: Work with peers to find new ways to create a possible better balance between international mobility and sustainability.
