EAIE Conference in Barcelona
As a facilitator and promoter of internationalization in the higher education sector, IAU participated in several sessions at the EAIE 2022 Conference in Barcelona on 13-16 September.
Giorgio Marinoni, Manager, HE and Internationalization, joined Maia Gelashvili, CIHE - Boston College, and Adriana Marroquin Rodriguez, OISE, University of Toronto, in the session The future of internationalisation after Covid-19 on 15 September.
EAIE Conference 13-16 September
Dr van‘t Land, IAU Secretary General, joined one of the EAIE 2022 Critical Conversations: When values collide on Thursday 15 September.
2022 MCO International Conference
The Magna Charta Observatory’s yearly international conference 2022 MCO took place on 14 - 16 September 2022 in Bologna, Italy, with the theme Universities engaging with society in turbulent times. Andreas Corcoran, IAU Deputy Secretary-General, represented the IAU alongside IAU Members and chaired the World Café sessions on University engagement with the Sustainable Development Goals. 2022 MCO coincided with an annual ceremony celebrating the growing number of rectors who have signed the Magna Charta Universitatum. The Magna Charta Observatory’s international conference addresses current challenges in upholding fundamental values and serving society responsibly.
IAU present at the TES
The Secretary-General of the United Nations convened the Transforming Education Summit (TES) during the UN General Assembly in New York this month. Trine Jensen, IAU Manager, Digital Transformation and Higher Education, will present in the session: Transforming Education for Sustainable Development (ESD). The SDG Academy organized the session in collaboration with the Permanent Mission of Ireland and Ghana. IAU also participated in the TES Pre-Summit at the UNESCO headquarters in June.
Also in New York, this time at Columbia University, the SDSN Leadership Council Meeting: Tech Innovation for Education and Training, a hybrid event, will take place on 19 September. Trine Jensen will be one of the panellists at this event, moderated by Patrick Paul Walsh, Vice President of Education and Director of the SDG Academy at UN SDSN and Professor at IAU Member UCD, Ireland.
