  • University of Tehran - Call for Proposals - 11th International Congress on Civil Engineering

    The School of Civil Engineering and the College of Engineering of the University of Tehran will host the 11th International Congress on Civil Engineering that will take place from 8th to 10th of May 2018. They launch a call for proposals for Special Sessions, Mini-Symposia and Workshops. Deadline for submission of Proposals: December 9th 2017.




  • University of Helsinki - ERC Grants

    The European Research Council (ERC) has awarded prestigious Consolidator Grants to five young researchers from the University of Helsinki last November. Different research fields including atmosphere, life sciences, social sciences and humanities were concerned by the funding. In all, the University of Helsinki totalizes over 60 ERC projects to date.   • AAU - EduTech Forum

    The Association of African Universities (AAU) and ten (10) Educational Technology Companies jointly hosted the inaugural Executive Educational Technology Forum (Executive EduTech Forum) in Accra Ghana from 21-22 November 2017. The event was attended by 100 participants from Highers Education sectors and representatives of Educational Technology Companies. In his Opening Speech the AAU Secretary General, Professor Etienne Ehouan Ehile invited the Educational Technology Providers to "take time to understand the needs of African Universities – then tailor their solutions to address real and proven needs."




  • UVED - Call for Proposals 2017

    The Virtual University Environment and Sustainable Development (UVED) is launching a call for proposals for the production of digital or audio-visual educational resources in the field of Environment and Sustainable Development. The UVED calls for proposals have been introduced to enrich the supply of UVED resources, as well as to produce resources that fit into the training courses offered by French Higher Education institutions. Deadline for applications: 19 January 2018.




  • Project “FIEST”: UNINETTUNO trains young Mediterranean movie-directors

    The International Telematic University UNINETTUNO continues its mission on professional and academic training of the new Mediterranean generations, with the project “FIEST– Formation Internationale à l’écriture de séries TV”.

    "FIEST" aims to train young students from Beirut, Tunis and Marrakech to write TV series.

    It is funded by funded by the European Commission and in partnership with COPEAM, RAI, FRANCE 2 and the Schools of Cinema of ALBA (Lebanon), ESAC (Tunisia) and ESAV (Morocco).

    UNINETTUNO organizes all the distance learning activities, including webinars and interactive sessions on the e-learning platform of the university, one of the few in the world also available in Arabic.

    "FIEST", together with the project "À Première Vue" for young Mediterranean movie-directors, enriches UNINETTUNO’s activities in collaboration with the institutions and schools of the Arab countries in the Mediterranean Area.




  • University of Salamanca celebrates 800 years

    The University of Salamanca celebrates 800 years of existence in May 2018. National and international meetings will be organized all throughout the year 2018. Around 20,000 experts from around the world will meet in Salamanca to participate in the Eighth Centenary congresses.




  • Sixth Palestinian Conference on Modern Trends in Mathematics and Physics - Call For Abstracts

    Palestine Technical University- Kadoorie, and in cooperation with Palestinian universities, is organizing the “Sixth Palestinian Conference on Modern Trends in Mathematics and Physics” (August 5-8,2018).

    The conference aims to provide a multinational platform where the latest trends in physics, mathematics and statistics can be discussed in a productive, research-conducive environment.

    Deadlines:
    a) Participants who wish to take part in the Conference are kindly asked to submit their abstracts no later than April 15, 2018 on the conference website.
    b) Participants will be notified about accepting their papers no later than May 7, 2018. The Call for Abstracts is available in English and Arabic.




  • The University of Gothenburg and Chalmers Score Top Marks for Their Sustainability Work

    In March last year, the Swedish Higher Education Authority was commissioned by the national government to carry out an evaluation of the work by universities to promote sustainable development. Eleven of the 47 evaluated universities were found to ‘have a well-developed process for incorporating sustainable development in education’. The Authority found the sustainability work at the other higher education institutions to be ‘in need of development’.

    Both Chalmers and the University of Gothenburg received a pass grade in all assessed areas: management and organisation; environment, resources and area; and design, implementation and results. The Centre for Environment and Sustainability, operated jointly by Chalmers and the University of Gothenburg, is identified as an important platform for sustainability efforts.

  • Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) – Cooperation with Siam University

    Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) and Siam University (SU) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 11 May 2017, to promote academic cooperation. The MoU was signed by Dr. Pornchai Mongkhonvanit, President, Siam University, and Prof. Worsak Kanok-Nukulchai, President AIT. The AIT President also congratulated Dr. Mongkhonvanit on his election as Vice President of the International Association of Universities (IAU). AIT is also a member of IAU.




  • University of Gothenburg (Sweden) - Students choose green trip

    On the first weekend in June, 13 students from the School of Business, Economics and Law at the University of Gothenburg travelled to Iceland to study the country’s conversion to green energy. To minimise their environmental impact, the students travelled by boat instead of flying. Those on the trip included students of law, environmental economics, human geography and statistics and they all have a common interest in climate change and sustainability issues. The project, called EnviroTravel, is run by the organization Handels Students for Sustainability (HaSS), which is an association for students at the School of Business, Economics and Law who want to work for sustainable development. This year’s trip to Iceland is being financed by the university’s internal climate fund.
